Guggenheim

Unique architecture inside and outside, it has the iconic white spiral inside, and it is near busy iconic streets for walking street pics.

1071 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10128 (between 88th and 89th Streets).

Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Interesting built-in architectural displays inside like the Temple of Dendur, Italian sculptures, large scale paintings. There is a long flight of wide steps inside the museum, alcoves and arches all over, and the iconic outdoor front entrance steps are popular also. If you have early entrance membership it helps to keep crowds lower.

1000 5th Ave, New York, NY 10028.

Green ivy-covered corner

There are cute cafes on the nearby blocks, and this is a recognizable intersection that is good for urban, street-crossing active shots

755 Greenwich Street (corner of West 11th and Greenwich Streets) West Village, Manhattan

Shops and cafes

You can do a 'walking shoot' easily and stop at a lot of quaint cafes, such as Plant Shed at 555 Columbus Ave, and there are big brownstone townhouses in different colors on the side streets. And to finish it off, you can take subway photos at the 86th Street station.

Upper West Side, Manhattan

SoHo. Greene Street

SoHo. Greene Street is one street that has cobblestone roads and nicely painted shops in different colors with pillar facades which has a more editorial look to it. There is also an area between Lafayette and Broadway that offers a more urban, grunge look for something less pristine.

SoHo. Greene Street

Central Park

My favorite starting point is near 59th Street and 6th Ave on the south side because it is not too crowded in the mornings and there are recognizable stopping points with background views of high rises, ponds, and small pretty bridges to shoot on. From there, we can walk north and take photos at Bethesda Terrace with the arched underpass or the iconic fountain, or go toward the Mall Literary Walk, which has longer paths with benches along it, do a boat ride at the Central Park Boathouse, grab a snack at the cafe near the Lake, or go further up toward Belvedere Castle.

59th Street and 6th Ave

DUMBO in Brooklyn.

It is a general shopping and eating area with a lot of stores and businesses to explore, but also has several options for good bridge views that soar overhead of you, and there is also a walking path along the East River with views of water and a carousel for fun. People can also take more urban/shop style photos there because there are many hip shops.

Dumbo, Brooklyn

Elizabeth Street Garden

Elizabeth Street Garden is one of my favorites because it was one of the first places I found when we moved here but also I love that it has older cement sculptures with lichen on them, small walking paths and little cafe bistro tables to sit on, and little private corners with greenery around.

Elizabeth Street, lower manhattan

The Fruit Streets

The streets start near Cranberry and Henry Street, and go down to Pineapple Street. They are very quiet and residential and in the early morning hours it is easy to shoot in this neighborhood. There are ample brownstone options with big black pillars and elaborate green plant boxes hanging over all the windows. People are very friendly and there are a few nice coffee shops near that area for some window/cafe photos.

Brooklyn Heights

Staple Street Skybridge,  Tribeca

Pretty green copper color; it is a cast-iron bridge, connecting two buildings with separate addresses, suspended three stories above the ground. The street is often emptier which makes for good photos in an alley.

9 Jay St, New York, NY 10013. It is the footbridge over Staple Street.
